Dec 16, 2002, Washington D.C.: In the Gujarat state elections, the Hindutva-fascists won in a landslide. Many of their leaders and candidates were involved in the massacres, rapes and ethnic cleansing earlier this year in March. The fascists are now gloating and threatening to repeat their "winning formula" and "Gujarat experiment" all over India. They have vowed to make India a graveyard for "secularism". Recent reports from US and UK detail how the fascists get massive funding from their supporters in the west. An independent study released in New Delhi last month (Nov, 2002) says many American corporations and non-resident Indians are duped into funding right-wing fundamentalist groups that are spreading communal violence and hatred in India. The report accuses the India Development and Relief Fund (IDRF), a Maryland-based charity, of being a frontal organization for the Sangh Parivar and its numerous outfits for funneling millions of dollars every year to be used by "violent, sectarian Hindu supremacist organizations".
